Safe checks, in order
Start with the simplest non-invasive check. Stop as soon as the error clears; repeated resets can hide a condition without correcting it.
Check home Wi-Fi
Confirm another device can use the same network.
Press Restart
Use the HS200 Restart button once; this does not erase settings.
Wait for reconnection
The LED may change amber and blink green while reconnecting.
Reconfigure only if needed
Use the documented reset duration and Kasa app if credentials changed.
Know where to stop
This is a line-voltage wall switch. Do not remove the faceplate or touch wiring unless the circuit is off and you are qualified.
When to call a technician or support
Use an electrician for wiring or load problems. Contact Kasa support if Wi-Fi works but the switch cannot reconnect after an ordinary restart.
When you call, have the exact product or vehicle model, model year where relevant, the complete code or symbol, and when it appeared.
