Printer Offline: Connection Checklist
Separate a computer queue problem from a Wi-Fi, USB, or printer power problem.
Confirm the printer is awake and error-free, then check that the computer is using the correct printer and connection. Avoid reinstalling everything before checking the queue and network.
Checks to make in order
Read the printer display
Resolve paper, ink, cover, or firmware warnings first.
Confirm the connection
Check USB seating or verify the printer and computer are on the intended Wi-Fi.
Check the print queue
Remove a stuck job and make sure Use Printer Offline is not selected.
Restart in order
Restart the printer, then the computer or router only if necessary.
Stop and get help when
- The printer shows a firmware recovery message
- The device repeatedly disappears from a stable network
- A damaged USB port, cable, or power supply is visible
