Start with the drain hose, household standpipe, and the model-approved pump filter. Do not force the door or open a filter while the water is hot.

Checks to make in order

1

Protect the floor

Prepare towels and a shallow pan before opening any approved drain access.

2

Inspect the hose

Straighten kinks and confirm the standpipe or sink drain is not backed up.

3

Clean only the approved filter

Follow the exact manual because some models do not have an owner-accessible pump filter.

4

Run Drain or Spin once

Reassemble securely and perform one empty drain test.

Stop point

Stop and get help when

  • The pump hums or grinds without moving water
  • The washer leaks after reassembly
  • The door remains locked after the tub is fully drained
